Pacific FC gears up for Ottawa clash under new coach Terry Dunfield

Pacific FC will return to Canadian Premier League action on July 26 in Ottawa, facing Atlético Ottawa. The match marks Terry Dunfield’s debut as head coach after he took over on July 7.

The club’s three‑week lay‑off, caused by a postponed game against Forge FC due to poor air quality from northern Ontario wildfires, gave Dunfield extra time to introduce a new tactical identity and to focus on defensive organization. Defender Diego Konincks said the extended break has been “a blessing in disguise,” allowing the team to fine‑tune its defensive structure and build a positive, winning culture.

Pacific’s staff used the interval for a mini pre‑season, with manager of football Jamar Dixon supporting the implementation of new ideas. Players have been kept sharp through exhibition matches, and the team aims to translate the improved cohesion and optimism into results in Ottawa.
