Pacific FC snaps 385-day winless streak with 4-3 victory

Pacific FC ended a winless streak lasting 385 days with a 4-3 victory over the Halifax Wanderers at Starlight Stadium. The win marks the club's first victory of the season and their first in over a year.

Dutch defender Diego Konincks secured the win for the Tridents, scoring in both the 85th and 92nd minutes. His late heroics followed an earlier own goal by the same player. Other goals for Pacific FC were provided by Lorenzo Callegari and Kadin Chung, while Taras Gomulka scored to briefly level the match after Halifax had taken a lead.

Under head coach Terry Dunfield, who replaced James Merriman earlier this season, Pacific FC currently holds a record of 1-5-12. Despite the win, the team remains 19 points behind their B.C. rivals, Vancouver FC, for the final playoff position. The club's next match is scheduled for September 5 against Atlético Ottawa.
