Pacifica Quartet to perform at Theatro Municipal do Rio de Janeiro

The two-time Grammy-winning Pacifica Quartet is scheduled to perform at the Theatro Municipal do Rio de Janeiro on September 21 at 7:00 p.m. as part of the DellArte Concertos Internacionais series. The ensemble, consisting of Simin Ganatra, Austin Hartman, Mark Holloway, and Brandon Vamos, will present a diverse program featuring works by Mendelssohn, Ligeti, and Beethoven’s String Quartet No. 13, including the “Great Fugue.”

The quartet recently performed at the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires to critical acclaim, with publications such as Clarín and La Nación describing the performance as a “spiritual journey” and “unforgettable.” Founded in 1994, the Pacifica Quartet has received numerous honors, including the Naumburg Chamber Music Prize, the Cleveland Quartet Prize, and the Avery Fisher Artistic Fellowship.
