Packaging and processing industry expos highlight automation and sustainability

Major industry exhibitions are showcasing advancements in packaging, logistics, and processing technologies. The UKPackaging Expo, scheduled for November 2026 in Liverpool, will feature over 120 suppliers focusing on sustainable solutions, such as eco-conscious apparel and recyclable paper and plastic films. The event aims to connect procurement specialists with technologies for automated print finishing and digital production.

In the United States, PACK EXPO International held in Chicago drew over 43,000 attendees and 2,700 exhibitors. The event emphasized trends in artificial intelligence, automation, and reusable packaging. Industry research indicates that despite economic uncertainty, shipments for U.S. packaging and food and beverage processing equipment are projected to grow through 2027. Key industry challenges identified include workforce knowledge loss, equipment obsolescence, and SKU proliferation.
