Packers cornerback Keisean Nixon misses first training camp practice with hamstring injury

Green Bay Packers cornerback Keisean Nixon missed the first day of the 2026 training camp after waking up with tightness in his hamstring. Team doctors scanned the injury and advised him to sit out, allowing him to return to practice the following day.

Nixon said the absence was purely medical and not related to ongoing contract discussions. He is entering the final year of a three‑year, $18 million deal that pays a $4.3 million base salary this season and carries a $6 million annual average. After a rookie season as a special‑teams player, he progressed to an All‑Pro kick returner and now serves as the Packers' primary outside corner, aiming to improve on a 2025 campaign that produced 78 tackles, 17 pass break‑ups and a Pro Bowl alternate selection.
