PACMA calls for protest against Toro Júbilo in Medinaceli

The animal rights party PACMA has called for a protest against the Toro Júbilo festival in Medinaceli, Soria, scheduled for November 14 at 18:00. The demonstration, which is expected to include the presence of party president Javier Luna, aims to turn Medinaceli into a focal point for animal rights activism, similar to the movement seen in Tordesillas.

PACMA has opposed the Toro Júbilo for over 15 years, citing the physical and psychological harm caused to the animal through forced restraint and harassment. The party has previously utilized veterinary reports and large-scale signature campaigns to denounce the practice.

Legal efforts to stop the festival have seen mixed results. While a lower court initially issued a favorable ruling and a precautionary suspension of the event in late 2024, the High Court of Justice of Castilla y León later revoked that decision, ruling that the municipal agreement in question was not subject to appeal. The conflict regarding the festival's legality remains ongoing.
