PACMA denounces animal mistreatment in Santiago-Pontones festivities
The animal rights political party PACMA has filed a complaint regarding the alleged mistreatment of a young bull during traditional festivities in Santiago-Pontones, Jaén. The party claims that images from the Santiago de la Espada celebrations show a bull in a state of extreme emaciation and poor physical condition being chased and harassed by participants.
PACMA has described the incident as ‘legalized cruelty’ and is demanding that competent authorities investigate the event. The party is calling for a review of veterinary reports to determine if animal welfare regulations were violated and is seeking public explanations from the Santiago-Pontones City Council. They are also requesting the identification of those responsible for providing the animal and those who authorized its participation in the event.
