Paco Núñez pledges PP candidacy for Castilla‑La Mancha presidency, rejects PSOE attacks

Paco Núñez, president of the People’s Party (PP) in Castilla‑La Mancha, announced he will stand as the party’s candidate for the regional presidency in the 2027 elections. In an interview with Europa Press, he dismissed what he called a “descarado interés” by the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE), accusing them of trying to undermine his bid.

Núñez also criticised incumbent president Emiliano García‑Page, saying the socialist leader shows “lack of ambition, illusion and project” and appears detached from the region. He outlined a vision for a future government composed of locals from politics, business, academia and public administration, insisting that all members must be native to Castilla‑La Mancha. The PP aims to present a clear alternative to socialist rule ahead of the upcoming campaign.
