Pacto Histórico announces mayoral precandidates in Colombia
The Pacto Histórico political coalition has unveiled its preliminary candidates for the 2027 mayoral race in Montería, Córdoba. During a meeting with journalists, the party presented six leaders—Freddy Benedetti, Mauricio Calderón, Juan Sebastián Corrales, Alexander Mendoza, Roberto Montalvo, and Mario Montes de Oca—as potential contenders. Deláscar Molina was also noted as an interested party.
The coalition indicated that the final candidate will be determined through an open consultation, with specific rules to be established by the party's Foundational Congress. Each aspirant highlighted different priorities, ranging from urban planning and drainage infrastructure to housing and rural integration.
In a separate political development in Santa Marta, business administrator Fabio Alejandro Manjarrés Pinzón is emerging as a potential progressive candidate for the 2027 mayoral election. Manjarrés, who holds a master's degree in Business Development and previously served as a project manager for the Magdalena Governor's Office under Rosa Cotes, is reportedly aligning himself with the Pacto Histórico.
