Pacto Histórico senators face lawsuit over alleged list alterations

A citizen observer, Juan Carlos Calderón España, has filed an electoral nullity lawsuit before the Council of State against the declaration of election for the 25 senators of the Pacto Histórico coalition for the 2026-2030 period.

The lawsuit alleges that the final list submitted to the National Electoral Council (CNE) ignored the binding results of the coalition's internal consultation held on October 26, 2025. Specifically, the claimant argues that the positions of candidates and gender alternation rules established during the internal vote were altered without authorization.

Additionally, the demand includes a subsidiary request to review the seat granted to former minister Carolina Corcho, claiming she was added to the list without participating in the internal consultation. The legal action seeks to annul the election declaration, revoke the credentials of the elected senators, and reassign the seats according to the original voting order from the October 2025 consultation.
