Pacto Histórico senators outline legislative priorities in Colombia

Senator Ferney Silva Idrobo of the Pacto Histórico has been appointed to the Seventh Commission for the 2026-2030 period. A public accountant by profession, Silva has a long history in regional politics in Cauca and has previously served as a campaign manager and secretary. In his new role, he intends to defend labor, pension, and health reforms.

Meanwhile, Senator Carolina Corcho, former Minister of Health, discussed the legislative priorities of the Pacto Histórico caucus. The group has filed nine bills, including reforms to health, agrarian jurisdiction, and higher education. Corcho also highlighted a proposed reform to the Law of Competencies, which aims to decentralize resources to Colombia's regions, a move she described as a significant step in state reform.
