Aceh Tamiang and Padang advance permanent housing for disaster survivors

Authorities in Aceh Tamiang and Padang are advancing the construction of permanent housing (Huntap) for communities affected by natural disasters.

In Aceh Tamiang, the local government is accelerating data validation for 5,560 candidate households to ensure aid reaches eligible residents. Technical teams are conducting door-to-door checks to verify land ownership and residency status. Currently, 3,704 families have been verified as eligible, while 1,065 were disqualified due to issues such as duplicate data or land disputes. Construction includes both in-situ builds and independent relocation schemes, with 67 units completed and 245 currently under development.

In Padang, West Sumatra, approximately 340 permanent housing units are being built in stages for flash flood survivors. The Padang City Government and the Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Acceleration Task Force (Satgas PRR) are overseeing the project, which involves land clearing and construction in the Balai Gadang area. Some units have already been completed as part of the phased rollout.
