Padang City distributes Rp540 million in flood relief aid
The Padang City Government has distributed Rp540 million in aid to 270 homes affected by extreme weather and flooding that occurred on August 3, 2026. Each recipient household received Rp2 million from the city's regional budget.
The affected homes are located across four districts: 191 in Kuranji, 45 in Nanggalo, 24 in Koto Tangah, and 10 in Padang Utara. While 6,348 homes were initially impacted by the floods, the majority have recovered, leaving only these 270 homes with minor damage of less than 20 percent.
In addition to cash assistance, the government provided cleaning supplies, hygiene kits, blankets, and food supplies. Mayor Fadly Amran expressed gratitude to the central government and the National Disaster Management Authority (BNPB) for their support in handling the disaster and requested further infrastructure development to prevent future occurrences.
