Padang City Government reshuffles 234 officials and boosts Sharia literacy
The Padang City Government is implementing several administrative and educational initiatives to strengthen local governance. Mayor Fadly Amran has overseen a bureaucratic reshuffle, appointing and swearing in 234 officials, including 24 administrators, 161 supervisors, 9 functional officials, and 40 school principals.
In his address, Mayor Amran urged the new officials to work effectively and efficiently, emphasizing that budget constraints should not hinder public service or the implementation of the city's nine flagship programs. He encouraged officials to innovate and move beyond their comfort zones to better serve the community.
Simultaneously, the city is conducting Sharia economic and financial literacy training for civil servants across various regional apparatus organizations and local government-owned enterprises. This initiative follows the city's recent receipt of the 1st Best Anugerah Adinata Syariah 2026 award at the West Sumatra provincial level. Vice Mayor Maigus Nasir noted that the training aims to ensure consistent application of Sharia-based financial management principles throughout the bureaucracy.
