Padang City launches second session of Padang Rancak Award

The Padang City Government, through its Environmental Agency (DLH), has partnered with the Research and Community Service Institute (LPPM) of Eka Sakti University (UNES) to launch the second session of the Padang Rancak Award (PRA) 2026 coaching and field verification.

The program has an extended duration, running from July 12 to October 1, 2026, to coincide with the 357th anniversary of Padang City and to serve as preparation for the Adipura environmental assessment. The extended timeline is intended to allow neighborhood heads (RT) and waste banks to maintain consistent cleanliness in their respective areas.

A primary focus of this session is educating the community on sorting organic waste, specifically food scraps, to reduce methane emissions that contribute to climate change. To conduct comprehensive verifications across 3,456 neighborhoods, 312 UNES students have been deployed to the field to assist in the assessment process.
