Padang Firefighters rescue student trapped in pavilion pillar

A 19-year-old university student named Manda was rescued by the Padang Fire Department after becoming trapped between the supporting pillars of a pavilion in front of her boarding house on Wednesday night.

The incident occurred on Jalan Flores in the Ulak Karang Utara neighborhood of Padang Utara, Padang. According to officials, the student was attempting to sit in the pavilion when her leg accidentally became wedged in the gap between the pillars. Her attempts to free herself resulted in her becoming further stuck.

After being trapped for approximately two hours, the student began to feel weak. A witness contacted emergency services at 21:45 WIB. The fire department dispatched 15 personnel along with rescue and command units, arriving at the scene shortly after. The evacuation was successfully completed by 22:41 WIB, and the student was rescued safely despite experiencing exhaustion.
