Padang officials inaugurate new PGRI leadership and ‘Ibunda Guru’

The Padang City Government has officially inaugurated the new leadership of the Indonesian Teachers Association (PGRI) for the 2025-2030 term. During the ceremony held at the Bagindo Aziz Chan Youth Center, Iswardi was appointed as the Chairman of PGRI Padang.

Dian Puspita Fadly Amran, Chairperson of the Padang City Empowerment and Family Welfare Team (TP-PKK), was also inaugurated as the ‘Ibunda Guru’ (Mother of Teachers) for PGRI Padang. Dian Puspita stated that the role is a significant responsibility aimed at strengthening the educational ecosystem and character building for the younger generation in Padang.

Padang Mayor Fadly Amran, acting as the advisory board member, emphasized that PGRI must serve as a strategic partner to the local government. He outlined two primary objectives for the next five years: transforming schools into digital institutions and elevating local schools to international or global standards to adapt to technological advancements and global dynamics.
