Padang Panjang Government addresses lower 2027 revenue targets
The Padang Panjang City Government has addressed concerns regarding the lower Regional Original Income (PAD) targets set in the 2027 Draft Regional Budget (RAPBD) compared to the 2026 budget. Vice Mayor Allex Saputra stated during a plenary session that the reduction is a strategic move to ensure targets are realistic and achievable.
Saputra emphasized that setting overly ambitious targets could lead to implementation risks for regional programs and potential payment failures. To grow revenue in 2027, the government plans to expand the income base and improve compliance among businesses and citizens. However, officials noted that any adjustments to tariffs will undergo studies to ensure they do not burden low-income residents or small and medium enterprises (UMKM).
