Paddy Pimblett reveals significant weight fluctuations
UFC lightweight contender Paddy Pimblett has revealed significant details regarding his weight fluctuations and eating habits. During an appearance on the ‘Green Light with Chris Long’ podcast, Pimblett disclosed that he weighed approximately 190 pounds inside the Octagon during his recent first-round submission victory over Benoît Saint Denis. This indicates a weight gain of roughly 34 pounds in the 46-hour window between his official 156-pound weigh-in and the fight.
Pimblett, who has previously discussed the challenges of weight cutting in MMA, noted that he currently weighs between 200 and 205 pounds. He expressed that he may eventually move toward the heavyweight division upon retirement, suggesting that reaching 250 pounds would not be a significant challenge. He also touched upon his relationship with food, describing himself as a ‘food addict’ and suggesting that the rigors of dieting and weight cutting for professional fighting have contributed to an eating disorder.
