Padel clubs expand across the United Kingdom

The padel industry in the United Kingdom is seeing significant expansion through different business models. Padel People, founded by George Sandbach and James Rock, is focusing on provincial areas that lack adequate sports provision. The company currently operates six venues and plans to open four more in the coming months. To identify viable locations, the company utilizes bespoke software built with Claude AI to cross-reference population data, planning applications, and existing venues.

In contrast, Slazenger Padel is expanding its premium footprint, recently opening a 35,000 sq. ft. club in Exeter at the Haven Banks Outdoor Education Centre. This new facility includes nine panoramic padel courts, two pickleball courts, and social spaces such as a café and member’s bar. The Exeter launch follows previous openings in Leeds, Swindon, and Blackburn, as part of Frasers Group’s strategy to invest in high-end sport and leisure experiences.
