Padel tennis operators seek new indoor facility developments in UK

New developments are underway to expand indoor padel tennis facilities in the United Kingdom. In Carlisle, True Padel Ltd has applied for a premises licence to transform the former Vaseys furniture store into a sports and leisure complex. The proposed venue, named ‘True Padel’, would feature padel courts, cricket facilities, a cafe, and a bar. The company, which already operates clubs in Durham and Sunderland, is seeking permission to operate seven days a week.

In Mochdre, NW Sports Ventures Ltd has resubmitted a planning application to establish a four-court indoor padel facility at Mochdre Commerce Park. The new bid follows a previous refusal by Conwy planners, who cited a lack of evidence that the site had been actively marketed. The resubmission includes details from agents to clarify that the unit had been marketed through existing estate agents, aiming to provide the necessary information to accommodate a reception, cafe, and changing facilities.
