Pademangan fire destroys dozens of homes in North Jakarta

A major fire broke out in the densely populated Kampung Muka area of Pademangan, North Jakarta, on Sunday morning, September 27. The blaze destroyed approximately 20 semi-permanent houses and 95 rental rooms, covering an area of about 1,800 square meters.

The incident affected roughly 380 residents, representing 110 families, many of whom have been forced to evacuate. While there have been no reports of fatalities or injuries, the material losses are expected to be significant. Authorities suspect the fire was caused by an electrical short circuit following reports of an explosion.

In the aftermath, Polda Metro Jaya has been providing humanitarian aid to the displaced. Personnel from the Samapta Directorate have been distributing food and beverages to approximately 173 evacuees at local shelters to assist with their basic needs during the recovery period.
