missing person Oskar von der Linden Paderborn Police mechanical engineering student Germany disappearance

Oskar von der Linden, a 32-year-old mechanical engineering student from Paderborn, has been missing since approximately 5:00 PM on September 9. He was last seen departing on a hike to an unknown location.

Police investigators noted that his clothing and the contents of his black backpack do not suggest he had planned a long-term absence. Additionally, von der Linden failed to attend a long-planned meeting with his brother, which authorities described as untypical.

Authorities have released a description of the missing man: he is approximately 1.87 meters tall, has a slim build, dark brown hair, and brown eyes. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing dark clothing, including a black T-shirt, black cargo pants, and black-and-green hiking shoes.

While his recent hiking locations included areas such as Monte Scherbelino, Haxtergrund, the Externsteine, and the Hermannsdenkmal, police spokesperson Mark Heinemann stated that no concrete information has been obtained from the tips received so far.
