Padmini Kolhapure and Poonam Dhillon win CINTAA elections

Veteran actresses Padmini Kolhapure and Poonam Dhillon have won seats on the CINTAA Executive Committee following elections held on October 20. Kolhapure secured the highest number of votes with 604, followed closely by Dhillon with 601. Other notable candidates included Rakesh Bedi, Kanwarjit Paintal, and Chandraprakash Thakur.

The election process was marked by recent legal challenges and controversy. Actors, including Anil Kapoor, participated in the voting despite claims from opponents that a court order had stayed the proceedings. Members described the atmosphere as cheerful, noting that the turnout remained high despite attempts to spread negativity or fear regarding the legality of the vote.

Following the results, Poonam Dhillon emphasized the importance of adhering to the CINTAA constitution. She stated that she intends to ensure all elected members receive a copy of the rules and regulations to maintain fairness and focus on member welfare.
