Padovanelle horse track in Padova set for year‑round cultural and sports hub

The historic Padovanelle racecourse in Padova, acquired in 2023 by entrepreneur Giuseppe Stefanelli and his family, is being redeveloped into a multifunctional urban centre. While preserving its traditional horse‑racing program—including night races and Grand Prix events—the project adds a permanent cultural schedule. The newly opened Giardino Padovanelle offers daily evening activities such as live music, children’s workshops, comedy, book talks and local food tastings, featuring partners like Casa Barozzi and Eroica Caffè.

Spanning more than 16 hectares, the site provides over 1,000 parking spaces, extensive green areas and direct tram and road links. Renovation plans will revitalize covered spaces—including the historic Club House, the 1,200‑square‑metre Galleria Padovanelle and the 600‑square‑metre Church Padovanelle—to host conferences, exhibitions and corporate events. The aim is to create a year‑round hub for sport, culture, tourism and business, boosting Padova’s city‑life offering and attracting visitors from the region and beyond.
