Padraig Harrington Named Vice-Captain for 2027 Ryder Cup in Ireland
Padraig Harrington has been appointed as a vice‑captain for Team Europe for the 2027 Ryder Cup, which will be staged at Adare Manor in County Limerick, Ireland, from 13 to 19 September 2027. Team captain Luke Donald selected the 54‑year‑old Irish legend to join the coaching staff alongside brothers Edoardo and Francesco Molinari.
Harrington, a four‑time major‑winner, played in six Ryder Cups between 1999 and 2010, winning four of them. He previously served as a vice‑captain in 2014, 2016 and 2018 and captained the European side in 2021. He said he did not expect to wear the European Ryder Cup logo again and expressed his happiness at returning for a home event, adding that the tournament will be a “truly special occasion” and that the whole of Ireland will be behind it. The 2027 edition will be the first Ryder Cup held in Ireland since the 2006 event at the K Club.
