Padre Guilherme set to headline concert in Opole, Poland

Portuguese Catholic priest and internationally known DJ Padre Guilherme (Guilherme Guimarães Peixoto) will perform on 4 September in front of Opole Cathedral. The free‑entry concert, for which tickets can be obtained from local parishes for 100 zł, is intended to raise funds for the cathedral’s maintenance.

Guilherme, ordained in 1999, began mixing electronic music while serving as a military chaplain in Afghanistan. He later streamed weekly techno‑house sets during the COVID‑19 pandemic, combining liturgical chants and papal quotes, which went viral. His breakthrough came at the 2023 World Youth Day in Lisbon, where he played a dawn techno set to an audience of 1.5 million. Since then he has performed at festivals in Brazil, Spain, Chile and other countries, using proceeds to support charitable causes and his parish in Portugal.
