Paestum and Velia Archaeological Parks launch inclusivity project
Tiziana D’Angelo, director of the Paestum and Velia Archaeological Parks, has launched a new initiative titled ‘il benessere è un’opera d’arte’ (wellbeing is a work of art) to increase accessibility for vulnerable populations.
Marking the XIX National ALS Day, the project aims to transform archaeological sites into meeting points for individuals facing health challenges, including those with Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, and long-term illnesses. The initiative seeks to move beyond the traditional view of museums as strictly sites for conservation and visitation, instead fostering community care.
To support this mission, the parks are collaborating with the association AISLA. This partnership is intended to create a bridge between cultural heritage and the homes of those living with ALS and their families, utilizing both in-person workshops and remote engagement.
