Paestum museum expansion and 'Dawn of the Gods' early‑morning event unveiled

The new exhibition of the National Archaeological Museum of Paestum, titled “Paestum fuori le mura”, was inaugurated in the presence of Culture Minister Alessandro Giuli. The project was promoted by Vice‑Minister of Foreign Affairs Edmondo Cirielli and funded by Minister Gennaro Sangiuliano, with regional Vice‑President Giuseppe Fabbricatore praising the investment as a boost for Campania’s cultural heritage.

On 5 August 2026 the Paestum Archaeological Park will open before sunrise for the “L’Alba degli Dei” program. Visitors can enter the site from 05:00 to 08:00 to watch the Temple of Neptune bathed in early light, accompanied by theatre, dance and narration. Tickets cost €15, no reservation is required, and the event aims to offer a quieter, more immersive experience of the ancient Greek colony.
