Pag-IBIG Fund housing assets exceed P1 trillion
The Pag-IBIG Fund’s gross housing-related assets surpassed the P1 trillion mark as of the end of July. Of this total, P971.39 billion is comprised of housing-related loans, while P38.47 billion consists of other housing-related assets.
Housing and wholesale loan releases grew by 12 percent to P88.84 billion during the first seven months of the year, compared to P72.61 billion in the previous year. The fund is mandated to invest at least 70 percent of its available funds into housing to support members and the broader construction sector.
Housing Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling noted that this milestone indicates increased financing for Filipino homebuyers and greater support for developers. He stated that these investments help stimulate the industry, create jobs, and contribute to economic growth. The fund's performance aligns with the Expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino Program aimed at increasing affordable homeownership.
