Pagar Nusa and DPN Indonesia launch 2,000 legal scholarships
The Pagar Nusa leadership and the National Lawyers Council (DPN) of Indonesia have entered a strategic partnership to provide 2,000 scholarships for Special Advocate Professional Education (PKPA). The collaboration aims to expand access to legal professional education and increase the availability of lawyers capable of providing legal aid to the public.
Signed at the Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) headquarters in Jakarta, the program offers two distinct scholarship schemes. The first provides PKPA training for Pagar Nusa members, while the second, titled the ‘Presidential Achievement Scholarship’, is reserved for high-achieving members at national or international levels. Recipients of the achievement scholarship will receive broader coverage, including funding for the Advocate Professional Examination (UPA), inauguration, and swearing-in processes.
The PKPA training will be conducted online, involving legal practitioners and academics to enhance the quality of prospective advocates across Indonesia.
