Pagodart singer Luciano Babu undergoes bariatric surgery

Luciano Miranda, known as Luciano Babu from the group Pagodart, has undergone successful bariatric surgery following a long-term struggle with morbid obesity. Having previously weighed over 300 kg, the singer was forced to withdraw from performing and participating in Carnival trios elétricos in 2020.

Babu reported that his treatment process began ten years ago, and he had lost more than 108 kg prior to the surgical procedure. He stated that the surgery was a necessary step to regain quality of life and the ability to perform daily activities and spend time with his grandchildren. Following the successful operation at the Hospital da Obesidade in Salvador, the singer expressed his intention to return to the stage in Bahia.
