Pahang groups support land forfeiture of Berjaya Hills Resort Berhad

Various organizations in Pahang, including the Pahang State Veterans Association (PVATM), the Pahang State Youth Council (MBNP), UMNO Youth Pahang, and the Pahang Class F Contractors Association (PKKF), have expressed support for the Pahang State Government’s enforcement actions regarding land in Bukit Tinggi, Bentong.

The enforcement involves the forfeiture of 122 land titles belonging to Berjaya Hills Resort Berhad due to unpaid land tax arrears totaling approximately RM70.48 million. Supporters of the state’s action emphasize that the measures follow legal procedures and the National Land Code 1965, noting that the Court of Appeal previously upheld the state's authority to review land tax rates.

While acknowledging the company's right to pursue legal avenues and noting reports of a temporary court stay on enforcement, these groups maintain that large corporations must adhere to the same legal and financial obligations as individual citizens to protect state revenue and the rule of law.
