Pahang Rangers defeat Selangor FC in first MPFL final leg

Pahang Rangers secured a 4-3 victory against Selangor FC in the first leg of the 2026 Malaysia Premier Futsal League (MPFL) final at the SUKPA Indoor Stadium.

Despite Selangor FC holding a seasonal advantage after two previous wins, Pahang Rangers utilized their home-court advantage to overcome an early deficit. Evandro Borges opened the scoring for Selangor in the seventh minute, but Razin Rahim equalized for Pahang four minutes later. The match faced a significant delay of over an hour due to heavy rain causing the stadium roof to leak.

In the second half, Rodrigo da Silva put Pahang Rangers ahead in the 24th minute, followed by a goal from Syarifuddin Akhir. A Selangor FC power play attempt resulted in a goal for Pahang via Felipe de Souza in the 33rd minute. Although Marlon Oliveira and Borges scored to reduce the deficit, the match concluded 4-3. Pahang Rangers require a win or a draw in the second leg on October 31 to secure the championship.
