Pahang reports economic growth and poverty reduction success

Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail reported significant socio-economic progress for the state, highlighting the successful eradication of extreme poverty and strengthening economic indicators.

Regarding poverty alleviation, the state successfully removed 2,913 households from extreme poverty status as of January 2026. Additionally, the state reduced overall poverty by 30 percent, moving 4,263 households out of the poverty group. Wan Rosdy emphasized that the government's goal is to ensure long-term stability through jobs and steady income rather than just providing aid.

Economically, Pahang has recorded state revenue of RM921.72 million, reaching 72.03 percent of its RM1.279 billion target for the year. The state's GDP is projected to rise to RM71 billion in 2025, up from RM68.8 billion in 2024. Committed investments have reached RM11.47 billion, representing 70.85 percent of the RM16.2 billion target, while realized investments stand at RM1.044 billion.
