Paige Cognetti launches TV ad against data centers in Pennsylvania House race
Democratic candidate Paige Cognetti, the mayor of Scranton, has released a 30‑second television advertisement in a swing Pennsylvania House district, attacking artificial‑intelligence data center projects. The ad, costing about $200,000 for an initial two‑week run, criticises developers’ secrecy, state tax breaks, and rising electric bills, urging Big Tech to pay its own way, hire local union labor and stop harming the environment. Cognetti is challenging freshman Republican Rep. Rob Bresnahan, who has introduced the Local Control Protection Act to limit corporate lawsuits over local zoning decisions on data centers. The race is viewed as a key opportunity for Democrats to gain a seat and move toward control of the U.S. House of Representatives.
