Social media influencer Paige Lorenze, married to American tennis player Tommy Paul, posted a lengthy comment on Four Winds Craft Guild’s Instagram account objecting to a "No influencers" sign displayed inside the Nantucket, Massachusetts store. She argued the sign was sexist, questioned its feminist claim, and highlighted that the creator economy is largely driven by women, noting that brands spend billions on influencer marketing.

Four Winds Craft Guild responded by sharing that its Instagram page had been reported, reposting the image of the sign and mocking the complaint, writing that it was odd to spend time reporting a photo that made someone uncomfortable. The influencer’s comment was later removed, and the shop continued to display the sign.

The dispute drew attention to tensions between local businesses and online creators, with Lorenze emphasizing that a single influencer can launch a successful venture without traditional advertising, while the shop defended its stance.
