Paihuano joins the Sello Migrante initiative
The municipality of Paihuano has officially joined the ‘Sello Migrante’ (Migrant Seal) initiative, a program led by Chile’s National Migration Service. The agreement aims to strengthen municipal efforts regarding inclusion, interculturality, non-discrimination, and access to rights for migrants and refugees.
As part of this commitment, the municipality will establish a dedicated office staffed by an official tasked with receiving cases, providing information, and assisting individuals with the regularization process. Mayor Hernán Ahumada Ahumada stated that the goal is to collaborate with government policies to address irregular migration while promoting legal compliance and respect for the law.
The signing ceremony included the participation of Frank Sauerbaum Muñoz, National Director of the National Migration Service, and Ricardo Sprohnle Soza, the regional director for Coquimbo.
