Painter Kaede Ito holds solo exhibition in Harajuku

Former TBS announcer and current painter Kaede Ito is holding a solo exhibition titled ‘The Blue Within’ at Tokyu Plaza Harajuku ‘Harakado’ from October 29 to November 3. The exhibition features 21 works, including new pieces, focusing on themes of animals such as horses and tigers, as well as plants.

Based in Berlin, Germany, since leaving TBS in 2021, Ito described her artistic inspiration as expressing an ‘inner blue,’ comparing her essence to water and the strength of a blue flame. The event also includes a collaboration with traditional crafts from her hometown of Takaoka, Toyama Prefecture.

Ito expressed excitement about presenting her work in the youth-oriented Harajuku district, stating her desire to pass a baton to the next generation. Looking ahead, she aims to expand her international presence, mentioning potential future travels to the United States to seek new artistic inspiration.
