Painter Özgür Diler uses murals to teach children history
Ankara-based painter Özgür Diler has spent 35 years using mural art to convey historical, cultural, and national values to children. Throughout his career, Diler has painted the walls of more than 100 public buildings.
His works include portraits of significant historical figures such as Mehmet Akif Ersoy, Piri Reis, and the Azerbaijani poet Vahapzade. Additionally, he incorporates motifs of domestic aircraft, such as Hürkuş and KAAN, to introduce children to modern national achievements.
Diler’s projects extend to various settings, including hospitals, where his colorful murals aim to brighten the environment for young patients. His primary goal is to foster cultural awareness and inspire interest in art among the younger generation.
