Paiporta hosts theatrical satire regarding Dana flood management
The play ‘Salomé, una tragèdia contemporània’ will be performed at the Museu de la Rajoleria in Paiporta on November 6. Written by Jerónimo Cornelles and directed by Amparo Vayá, the production is a dramatized reading produced by the alarcón&cornelles company.
The play serves as a satirical reflection on the political responsibilities and management following the Dana natural disaster that occurred on October 29, 2024. While the text does not provide a chronological account of real experiences, it uses the format of a Greek tragedy to critique political responses to the disaster.
The event is free to the public until capacity is reached. The production was selected by the Institut Valencià de Cultura as part of its 2025 scenic writing aid program and the ‘Inèdits’ 2025 program.
