Paju Kaesong Ginseng Festival to held at Imjingak

The 21st Paju Kaesong Ginseng Festival is scheduled to take place from October 17 to 18 at Imjingak Plaza and the Pyeonghwa Nuri area. The event focuses on Paju’s premium 6-year-old ginseng and the ‘Jangdan Sambak’—a trio of local specialties including rice, beans, and ginseng.

To ensure quality and consumer trust, Paju City manages the entire production process, from cultivation and harvesting to selection and sealing. The festival aims to transform the border region from a symbol of division into a vibrant space for agriculture and peace tourism.

Key programs include a national cooking competition using local specialties, an ginseng health marathon, and the ‘Heo Jun Apothecary Village,’ which offers traditional herbal medicine experiences. For evening entertainment, the ‘Moonlight Theater’ will host family-friendly film screenings. To support the local economy, approximately 10 tons of ginseng and agricultural products will be sold through direct transactions at prices 15% to 20% lower than market rates.
