Paju police investigate murder of North Korean defector

Police in Paju, South Korea, have launched a murder investigation following the discovery of a North Korean defector's body in an apartment. The victim, a woman in her 30s, was found on the morning of October 9 in a residence in Wado-dong.

Authorities discovered the body after being unable to establish contact with the resident. Upon entering the apartment, officials found the body in an advanced state of decomposition. Autopsy findings have confirmed that the death was a homicide, with investigators estimating the crime occurred around early last month.

Police have identified the victim's partner as the primary suspect. The individual reportedly fled the country shortly after the incident. Law enforcement has requested assistance from Interpol to track the suspect's whereabouts.
