Paka hosts traditional Porcini and Black Truffle Days

The traditional Porcini and Black Truffle Days in Paka attracted a large number of visitors, including foragers, hikers, and families. The event highlights the deep connection between the Paka region and these forest delicacies.

Key activities included a mushroom foraging competition titled ‘Možda su u šumi’, professional mycological identification led by the Croatian Mycological and Fungal Association, and a 20-kilometer hiking excursion. The program also featured black truffle demonstrations, including truffle hunting, botanical walks, and tours of local forts and bunkers.

In addition to gastronomy, the event included a fair of indigenous products, culinary tastings, and activities for children. The Association Pogled also presented their microflora cultivation program, which supports the employment of young people with autism. Novi Marof Mayor Siniša Jenkač noted that the manifestation has grown to connect nature, tradition, and tourism potential in the region.
