Pakistan alleges Taliban support for cross-border terrorism

Pakistani security officials have presented evidence alleging that the Taliban regime in Afghanistan provides sanctuary, training, and operational support to terrorist groups targeting Pakistan. Officials stated they have identified 260 Afghan militants killed during attacks in Pakistan, providing specific names, addresses, and family details. This figure is considered an undercount as it excludes unidentified active fighters.

Security sources estimate that approximately 70 percent of Fitna al-Khawarij militants infiltrating Pakistan are of Afghan origin. Reports indicate that training camps have been established in Afghanistan's Kunar, Nangarhar, Khost, and Paktika provinces. Furthermore, officials claim that weapons previously used by US and NATO forces—including M4 assault rifles, Remington sniper rifles, and night-vision devices—have been transferred to militant groups such as Fitna al-Khawarij and Fitna al-Hindustan.

Pakistan has also highlighted that Taliban officials have reportedly attended funerals for these militants in their Afghan hometowns. Citing data related to recent years, officials noted the high human cost of terrorism originating from Afghan soil, which has resulted in significant Pakistani casualties.
