Pakistan and Indonesia move to expand defence cooperation

Indonesian Navy Chief Admiral Dr Muhammad Ali met with Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi. The high-level meeting focused on strengthening bilateral defence and security ties between Indonesia and Pakistan.

Both military leaders expressed satisfaction with current military-to-military relations and discussed expanding cooperation in several key areas. These include increased professional training, enhanced defence collaboration, and greater engagement in joint military exercises to improve coordination between their respective armed forces.

The discussions also covered regional security developments and the importance of maintaining stability. Field Marshal Munir reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to its relationship with Indonesia, while Admiral Ali commended the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces and their role in regional peace.
