Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan target $200 million in bilateral trade

During a visit to Bishkek, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov met to discuss strengthening bilateral ties. The leaders expressed a goal to increase trade between Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan from the current $16 million to $200 million per year within the next two years.

To support this economic growth, the two nations signed multiple agreements covering trade, security, education, science, technology, and the environment. Proposed initiatives include establishing Lahore and the Kyrgyz city of Osh as twin cities to foster cultural exchange and utilizing a new transit trade agreement to expand private sector engagement.

Additionally, both countries committed to collaborating on addressing climate change, terrorism, and extremism.
