Pakistan and Saudi Arabia sign diplomatic visa waiver agreement

Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have signed a mutual visa waiver agreement for holders of diplomatic, official, and special passports. The agreement was finalized on the sidelines of the 81st United Nations General Assembly in New York by Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud.

The move is intended to facilitate high-level engagement, institutional exchanges, and official travel between the two nations, strengthening their enduring strategic partnership. During their meeting, the ministers also discussed regional security and the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement, a trilateral pact involving Türkiye that stipulates an attack on one member is considered an attack on all.

Additionally, Pakistan’s leadership expressed solidarity with Saudi Arabia, condemning recent attacks by Houthi rebels against the Kingdom. The diplomatic engagement follows previous cooperation efforts, including agreements to boost Pakistani agricultural exports to Saudi Arabia and enhanced defense coordination.
