Eurasian diplomacy: Azerbaijan sovereignty, new trade pacts, and Turkic cultural unions

Various international diplomatic and cultural developments are occurring across Eurasia. In Azerbaijan, September 20 marks State Sovereignty Day, commemorating the restoration of full territorial control following military operations in 2023. Additionally, the Baku Declaration was signed to establish the Turkic Union of Composers (TUC) to foster musical cooperation among Turkic nations.

Economic and trade relations are also expanding. Syria and Uzbekistan have signed a memorandum of understanding to form a joint economic and trade committee that will meet annually. Meanwhile, Pakistan and Uzbekistan have committed to strengthening bilateral ties, aiming to increase trade to $2 billion by 2029 through improved transport links and regional connectivity.

In a unique diplomatic engagement, Kyrgyzstan President Sadyr Japarov visited Utah, United States, prior to attending the United Nations General Assembly. The visit highlighted connections between the two regions involving mining, tourism, and the traditional Kyrgyz sport of Kok-Boru.
