Pakistan Army responds to Afghan Taliban firing on border

Security forces engaged in a heavy exchange of fire along the Pak-Afghan border in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa following unprovoked firing by Afghan Taliban militants. The clashes occurred in the Taida, Upper Kurram, and Ghuzgari sectors.

According to security sources, the Afghan Taliban initiated the firing in an attempt to facilitate the movement of foreign terrorists across the border. In response, the Pakistan Army targeted the Topser post and the Shapula base camp in the Upper Kurram sector using artillery fire. Reports indicate that the Shapula base camp was completely destroyed and several Taliban personnel were killed. Following the retaliatory action, Taliban militants reportedly vacated their border posts.

General Syed Amir Raza, Commander National Strategic Command, stated that any infiltration from across the border will not be tolerated and emphasized that Pakistan's sovereignty is non-negotiable. Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah also commended the Pakistan Army for its professional response to the attempted infiltration.
